Just an update on my husband's progress with the Krystexxa, (he had his 1st treatment last month) ?prior to this treatment his uric acid was 6.5 he just went in this week for his labs and his uric acid was….Ready for this… 1.7!!

He is having his second infusion today and we are hopeful that he will continue to get good results! As we were told by his Dr. several months of lowered uric acid will help start the process of dissolving his tophi, which unfortunately had become quite extensive while he was taking alluporinol as he stayed constantly gouty and never got any relief. ?He is now on Uloric along with the IV treatment. ?We will begin taking weekly pictures of his hands/feet/elbow joints to document the progession of the tophi. ?Many people have asked if his gout was uncontrolled due to non-compliance of diet, however this is not the case with him. ?Unfortunately he has a strong family history of gout on both sides of his family and went years with his old Dr I believe undermedicating him and keeping him gouty constantly. ?So we are very hopeful with this latest treatment!!?

the new treatment is called Krystexxa. ?It is given intravenousely and is highly recommended for those who have severe tophous gout. ?We are really hoping that this will give him some relief from his severe tophi in his feet/hands. ?i understand that his uric acid level should be below 5 which I think the last test he was 7 or 6.???

I will keep you updated on his progress and hope that others will be able to benefit from this information.?

are you talking about the pig enzyme iv treatment? my husband is having that today, as we speak. ?this will be his first treatment in a series of 3. ?We are hopeful that it will help his severe tophous gout. ?His uric acid is not too high, but he has had constant gout attacks for the past several years. ?is now on ulloric and hoping that this enzyme therapy will help!! Has anyone else had this iv therapy?
