How Quick For Your Gout Fix?

In a recent post, a contributor described having to wait 8 weeks for a gout consultation.

I was horrified to see this, particularly as the interim advice was not good.

Now I hate to see doctors – they seem committed to turn you into patients – but I expect to see my doctor within a day.

I realize that, being in the UK, our socially-funded medical system is different from other countries. However, 8 weeks seems truly excessive to me.

What are you views and experiences of getting gout treatment when you need it?

Next day or two for  me unless pain strikes Friday night (in USA with health insurace (HMO-Medicare.)

But for me too it's something of a moot question becasue I also DESPISE going to the doctor for anything.
