I have suffered with 2-3 flare ups for many years but the beginning of the year brought on 3 months of living hell with rotating flare ups in my big toe, both knees and ankles. UA was very high.

Fortunately I found this site and decided to take control. I started on 200mg of Allopurinol in March and have been going strong ever since. No more flare ups and I have started exercising and playing sports again all while not restricting my diet or drinking at all other than using moderation.

Well I went for blood work and my kidney & liver functions are normal. My UA was 368 which is slightly above the target level here in Canada of 350. I explained to my doctor the reasons why I want it below 300 and she upped my Allopurinol to 300mg. My next blood work is in 4 months.

Thanks to Keith and this site my joints are feeling better than they have in a long time and I feel like I’m in control.

Moral of the story is do whatever it takes to get your uric acid levels down and you will over time feel better and get back to living your life.

    Thanks again Keith !

Ron, you’ve really made my day. Thank you for your kind words.

I can’t express how happy I am that you’ve finally beaten the gout demon.

    But I’ll try…

    Great Day for Gout Freedom
